5 Ways To Be More Chic

5 Ways To Be More Chic

This has been a very unique period of time for everyone. A time for many to reflect and realise what matters most. Much of our lives from where we work and how we holiday has changed enormously. Within this, less importantly but just as drastically, our approach to what we wear each day has also faced a transformation.

Whether you’ve been living in your lounge wear or have been online shopping more than ever before, there have been plenty of changes in our approach to fashion this year. But, one positive of having more time at home on our hands is that we have an opportunity get our wardrobes in order.

From holding onto old clothes that never get worn to panic buying pieces that won’t have more than one outing, we are all guilty of making less than sensible decisions when it comes to our wardrobes and our buying habits. But, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Here, I have broken down all the stress by compiling 5 ways to be chicer for your wardrobe.

1.            Buy an evergreen accessory.

Heading somewhere exciting means we inevitably feel like we need something special. However, more often than not, as much as we like the piece we buy, it can rarely get more than one outing.

Instead of purchasing something specific for special events, try to have a few dressier pieces that are an evergreen accessory. That way they have the massive versatility factor. If you go for something more of a classic, rather than a trendy item, you’ll be able to wear it on repeat and it will never feel like the same look.

2.           When in doubt keep it tailored.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to look good. Especially, when it comes to the ever so desired tailored look. When you pick pieces that fit you properly and hug your body in a flattering light, you can get a lot of use out of a style. The chicest way to stop traffic in a vibrant setting is to look like you are tailored to perfection. This can come in many varieties, like well fitted jeans, trousers, skirts, and even dresses. The most incredible tailored pieces to invest in is a fitted suit.

3.           Comfort doesn’t mean boring.

When you want to be comfortable you don’t have to look like you just got out of bed. If you want to look put together with minimal effort but still have that stylish attitude, a pair of leggings really can be your secret weapon. Not only can they be casual with a great blouse, but you can turn around and wear them all day and when night comes dress them up with a pump for cocktail hour. You get so much use out of this simple piece it will never leave your wardrobe.

4.            Skip the heels and go for trainers.

Every woman on the planet loves a pair of classic high heels. They come in so many sizes and colours. But one thing a lot of people are doing especially since when you walk a lot in a city, you need shoes that don’t hurt your feet. They are swapping high heels for trainers. It makes perfect sense when you factor in working out during the day and going to run errands with ease. What is great about trainers is you can dress them up with a casual outfit and still look put together.

5.           Protection for your eyes.

Eyes really are the windows too your soul. And what better way to protect them from the elements than investing in a great pair of statement sunglasses. Not only is it fun to wear them in photos of course, but you get to put an armour up for your eyes. And your eyes will thank you for the longevity.
