Pretty in Pink NYE Style

The outset of 2017 offers to all of us a symbolic moment to resolve, to move forward, and to do so with confidence and determination that whatever challenges we face heading into the new year ahead, we will meet them with courage and dignity-and while keeping our heads held high. The last couple of months have really gone by so fast, it feels like one year just vanished in the blink of an eye. Now it is time to look forward, as we step into 2017 with a bang! There is a new air of romantic glam, with ease in fashion as resort collections tease us with the promise of drifting away on some colourful, bold, and statement adventures, while keeping us new and relevant.

The city is chic this season, with Christmas celebrations heading to a close, it is time to be blown away by a New Year’s Eve spectacular look! When you look through the gifts you received for Christmas, most will be hoping you got something swanky for this year’s festivities. If you are not sure the best way to ring in the new year in style, check out my downtown city look for rocking into 2017 with Pretty in Pink NYE Style.

While exaggerated glitters dominate the street scene, edge towards more of a romantic silhouette. Rooted in cool luxury with an English rose colour and soft yet sophisticated fabric, you get this body hugging vintage rose dress! Paired perfectly with beige heels and a mode styled coat, to keep you toasty warm during old New Year’s night. This style combined makes for a very classy look that is versatile for other occasions as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I love glitter, gold, silver, or anything that stands out but if you wear something that can’t be worn again then it just seems pointless. The best way to pick out the perfect outfit is to dress in something you can wear with many different types of looks. The rose pink dress is made of this stretchy fabric that can be shown off casually shopping in the city, then be worked over with a coat for a hot date night out with your loved one. The coat, dress, and shoes, are all part of the timeless collection. These pieces can be worn by themselves for added luxury.

A Season Of Style

The weather outside may be frightful, but the style is so delightful. From oversized tailored coats to metallic tops, the fashion this season is really heating up. As we step into Christmas, there is a new pair of femininity and ease, mixed with glamour in fashion as metallic fabrics tease us with the allure of joy and magic this season, while keeping us ready for wherever the weather may take us. Comfort dressing is elevated from a downtown favourite into an all-occasion staple, while exaggerated silhouettes dominate daywear. For elegance rooted in cool luxury and relaxed strength, now is the time to embrace change, with as much or as little drama as you like.

After Hours

When we began shooting on location in the city for this month’s Christmas Countdown issue, I never thought how art played a key role in bringing our story to life. After all, 2016 has been truly an exciting year, with so much going on it feels very topsy-turvy at times. Why not ring in the new year with a very glamorous reveal! The evening edit is packed with a modern silhouette in timeless black to be worn after hours. For this occasion, this outfit will keep you looking chic long into the night.

All I Want For Christmas Is Pixie

History (from Greek historians, meaning “inquiry, knowledge acquired by investigation”) is the study of the past as it is described in written documents. So why is something that was created in the past, becoming relevant to us today? Many designers are being inspired on the runways with old fashioned designs. Reinventing seems to be the name of the game and what is old is defiantly new once again. Let’s take a trip away from the catwalk collections, and browse at the shop windows in the city.

Conversation's With Nick

The idea for this creative issue came to me in the Fall. I was working on many other exciting projects and started to miss doing some thought provoking interviews. I love getting to know the person a bit more and see what is behind their creative image. Have you ever watched an interview on TV or read one online and thought, they ask these questions a lot it feels repetitive? I don’t know about you but I prefer hearing and reading the unexpected. I have gotten to know quite a lot of creative forces in the fashion and art industry. It seems everyone who loves to express themselves wishes to let their voices be heard.

Animal Attraction

As far as this season’s trend alert is concerned, Leopard print is defiantly a neutral tone. It is a favourite to many chic fashion folk, who are not afraid to step outside the beige box. Some enjoy wearing the print regularly, often wearing up to five leopard things at once; coat, shirt, bag, shoes, and even carrying wild cat tissues. And, no, you don’t look crazy-you look cool as hell!

Top 5 Gifts For Men

“May you have joy to the world in this December season,” summing up the tone in a nutshell. On certain days, from different angles, the world looks upside down. People are rushing into stores, looking for the best products to buy for their families, friends, and anyone who is close enough to feel related. It has become one of the biggest trends in 2016, to start Christmas shopping a few months earlier.

When you look at the calendar it is only November but from the looks of holiday commercials popping up, decorations appearing all around, it seems like Christmas is becoming more currant. Why are people shopping so early though? Well by popular belief, it seems the best prices on must have items is to good not to pass up. Many retailers are having massive sales to lure customers in to get the best deal. Nothing wrong with saving especially if you get something truly special.

What is the best way to handle holiday stress? Simply go to your nearest café and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee. It may sound cliché but studies have shown doing something you enjoy can actually bring down stress levels. For some strange reason, it seems a lot of people act so crazy when the holidays come around. It is better for your state of mind if you just don’t take it so seriously.

The Ultimate Jet Set Gift

Historically, the month of December reigns supreme in jewellery sales. A shiny new pair of unforgettable earrings, topped with an equally impressive necklace to match is the ultimate luxury gift. What is a luxury gift? Something that can give you the feeling of a precious item that can become dear to your heart.

The Evolution Of Cashmere

It’s that time of the year again, where warm hearted season jingles are playing in every store corner you visit. The lines at cafés for hot piping coffee are longer then when the new IPhone came out. All the so called “best stuff” is selling out quick in stores and online. You feel a sense of chilly weather in the air and all you can do is smile. I love this time of year; wait isn’t it just November? From the looks of things, you would assume it was the December season. With the way people are acting it feels like it is begging to look a lot like Christmas.

I don’t mind the holiday music, long lines, or even the traffic. This is one of the best times of year to bundle up and enjoy the seasonal cheer! Wait a second, how can you enjoy this weather unless you have the proper clothing to sport in these chillier temperatures?

It isn’t just about staying warm and toasty this winter season; we all need those timeless pieces in our wardrobe that makes us feel a touch of chicness. Those items that can cocoon you in pure luxury when you put them on. They never lose their appeal- classic, yet always on trend, leaving us sighing in contentment when we find them in our wardrobes.

D&G Redifined

Every year, about a month before I go on holiday, I find myself poring over what to wear. Eventually, I end up picking out a pair of skinny jeans, a sweater, or leather jacket. Why is this? I tend to be more drawn towards jeans, since they are highly versatile and go with everything in your wardrobe.

My style selection can be very dressy since I’m also attracted to feminine floral skirts, a classy black v-neck blouse, and of course, black pumps. This makes for a classic style that reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and the Grace Kelly days. I love old fashioned movies starring these two beauties who became icons in the fashion industry.

Hot Bucket In The City

Dive into the world of a mode girl of the swinging 60’s with chic fashion and iconic photographs that was all the rage. A dazzling display of haute couture and ready-to-wear styles that were flying off the shelves! Fast-forward to present time and it seems what was hot in the past is now even hotter today. The fashion industry constantly mines for past inspirations to draw from to create such incredible designs we can’t get enough of.

With so little time and everything looking the same. It seems iconic pieces are coming back to play. Trends can be fun to try out but they don’t have the same appeal that an iconic piece can give you. So what exactly makes an iconic piece relevant? It starts with something that holds up to the test of time. In this case, it seems the bucket bag is rearing to become a classic accessory to have in your wardrobe.

Tres Chic

The first thing people notice about you is how you are dressed. What your wear triggers all sorts of assumptions about who you are. For me, that is not a bad thing. It is something you can play around with and have loads of fun.

When you get dressed in the morning, you can be an artist, you create this image that is so striking, your eyes can’t stop admiring your masterpiece. Your clothes are the paint you use to express who you are on any given day. Have you ever wondered what sort of emotions are behind what people wear?

Winter & Fashion

It takes a lot to impress me. I’m not the kind of person who can just buy anything that I see. When purchasing new items, like designer and premium things. My initial reaction is to pay close attention to every detail. I’ve been in plenty of boutiques around the city that carry such lovely purses, clothes, and more. One thing I find quite irritating; is how they don’t always carry a larger selection. Most of the time while shopping in the stores, I have this little voice inside of me that keeps saying, “BUY IT NOW WOW SO GORGEOUS!” This petite voice can truly get you in trouble and give you buyer’s remorse very fast.

Since winter is coming, it is time to get stocked up on the latest keep sake pieces to officially add in your wardrobe. Reworking how to wear winter’s latest styles can be easier than anyone could ever imagine. This sounds exciting! New trends and classic styles that are anything but boring. So where exactly should you start shopping to find these wonderful selections?

Fall's Hottest Label

When you take a glimpse at his natural need for glamour mixed with his classic appeal of sexuality, the first person that comes to mind is Tom Ford! For a moment you think this has to be the American designer’s collection for fall. It just screams risky sexuality mixed with a glamourous entrance right? The master of influences is no other than French designer Alexandre Vauthier. Vauthier expresses himself through his collection which is inspired by his French culture and timeless influences. He is a true artist with show stopping pieces that have taken the fashion world by storm.

Alexandre is passionate about creating such exceptional pieces that are known for their exclusivity. He presents his Fall 2016 Ready-To-Wear Collection as an invitation to discover the codes of his Maison de couture. The clothes are hyper sexed up with a bit of budding romance that isn’t hard to miss. The designer admires showing off a bombshell woman who isn’t scared to take on the world while looking wildly Parisian in the process.

Hot Lips

It should come as no surprise to anyone that I love lipstick products. I love the bold reds, dark plum, and berry colours. They have such a cool tone and really can go from day to night if worn correctly. Even though I am a bold girl when it comes to style and individuality, what I love most is trying something completely new. To my delight I was contacted by Charlotte Tilbury to try a new lipstick from the hot lips collection. I have always been a fan of lipsticks since they are convenient to travel with and make putting on makeup a breeze.

Charlotte Tilbury has always said, “I always say lipstick empowers confidence-it’s happiness in a tube!” Her new hot lips collection is a collaboration with 12 incredible, iconic, women! My shade is Miranda May which is Miranda Kerr’s shade. I love the colour it comes off like a light pinkish tone on me. It features a square-angled tip that is designed to mimic a lip brush, as well as being enriched with Orchid Extract, and 3D pigments for cashmere soft lips that look lit from within.

More Issues Than Vogue

I have noticed that two things happen when you live through an era of constant rapid change, things become even more productive. There is a frequent surge of artistic creativity, with the misfits, the contrarians, and the underdogs coming into their own. We witness the rise of the rebel: those who don’t play by the rules, who flourish in chaotic, unpredictable times and welcome uncertainty without fear. This new look is dedicated to those people, the curious revolutionaries who always think differently. Style should be bolder, braver, and give many individuals a voice to celebrate varied walks of individuality.

Reimagine something so incredible that it simply takes your breath away. The new season is approaching, with so many exciting epic new fashion trends that make us hungry for more. We see new and unusual accessories that are anything but boring: distressed details, changing tones, cheeky sayings, and raw details that cuts through minimalistic leisure. Update your mobile phone with some top notch influential customization. What exactly is customization? When you examine customization within consumerism, the consumer as an individual is manipulating the product. This is done by selecting goods with the intentions of altering them. Attempting to maintain their lifestyle while showcasing their identity. Instead of accepting an object for what it looks like, it is incorporated and changed to fit one’s design aesthetic and choices.

Rocking Romance

What will the 2017 shows bring to the fashion world? It’s anyone’s guess. Like the anticipation of the new IPhone 7 coming out for September, it seems many people just don’t care what is hot in the trending market. Let’s face it, there’s no sure fire predication to be made when it comes to the new styles. Do we really even like new? Or are we constantly finding ourselves sticking to old faithful that never fails us? What is old is new again but can that truly make us hungry for buyer consumption? Being a compulsive buyer is never a good habit to have under your belt. This can cause all sorts of issues especially when it comes to your personal finances.

Blackout

Most of the time, the fashion scene is a source of confusion, with bomber jackets hitting stores during the mid-season take over and romantic blouses landing in shops for the start of fall. It is no wonder we forget the difference between a trend and an ever green style. Classic pieces are at a rare point, when we desire something so simple that can be worn quite often without clashing our individuality. This defiantly isn’t the case when it comes to some outlandish show pieces. I don’t know about you but the last thing on my mind is desiring something with literally a face on it. I don’t know what designers are thinking when it comes to the fall line-up. It is as if they lost all creativity or forgot what it means when it comes to simplicity.

Pre-collections provide customers with a see what is hot now-buy-right-away option, this can be disheartening to some consumers who are frankly just looking for something not futuristic. Edgy silhouettes can be fun to play around with but mixing patterns and colours can sometimes be overwhelming. Certain styles start to look the same after a while and become rather basic. How do you fix this fashion depressed feel? Try some fashion-inspo via Instagram of course! I love seeing different styles captured in such a fun and creative way. You can find an evening look in two seconds by also looking at Pinterest boards that have a luxe and dressy feel.

Totes for boys

There’s a distinct difference between your brain on the sunshine effect with pool parties, warm weather and when your brain connects with fall and winter time. The weather changes, coats are a must have and hot chocolate becomes your best friend. To add to this change of scenery, you become more amped up for a ready to work state of mind. The right accessory can be a life changing moment. Since the 1990s, designers have marketed a more diverse range of accessory bags for men. The names man-purse and murse have been used quite often. The designs are typically variations on backpacks or messenger bags, and have either a masculine or a more unisex appearance, although they are often more streamlined than a backpack and less bulky than a briefcase. It seems the demand is rather strong after several years of popularity, possibly supported by the growing range of modern electronic devices men carry with them.

Men's designer bags are produced by well-known companies such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Bottega Veneta in a variety of shapes and sizes. The need to organize one's belongings is universal; thus handbags exist in differing forms in cultures around the world. People have been quite clever in thinking of ways to use the materials at hand to create their bags; this shows the true evolution that is the man bag. Even if you are sporting a perfectly tailored suit, you can sneakily get away with carrying a bag. That’s because the humble tote bag has transformed, from a drab briefcase old fashioned style to a luxurious go all over, do anything carryall. These roomy new bags have all the functionality you need to survive a day of work, gym, and adult sleepover. And with classic silhouettes, graphics, and a variety of cool textures, they have enough style to keep heads rolling for months while living it up in the city.

The Velvet takeover

It seems fall is getting a tad soft this year with a gorgeous velvet touch. This fabric is irresistible and adds just the right amount of sophistication to an already great look. With these plummeting chilly temperatures coming in, it pays to have a cosy and luxurious chic fabric known as velvet, to keep you warm and stylish. Although it has been deemed tacky the past few years, in 2016 it has become one of the hottest trends this fall and winter. What comes to mind when we think about velvet? How can I pull this off without looking like an 8-year-old on Christmas morning? Stick with a richer tone this way you don’t end up looking ridiculous.

6 Essentail's for traveling in style

Time goes by so quickly that in a blink of an eye it is already August. Can you believe it was just July yesterday? Summer is over and fall has just begun to creep up on us in the best way possible. Going on holiday isn’t just for summer or special occasions, sometimes you just need to get away from it all and reflect. August is the best time of year to plan on going somewhere different. Even though it is exciting to travel there are some negative sides. It can be overwhelming and stressful on how crowded airports can get. This can cause the worst headache in the world. Before the long lines, getting through security, or even planning on what you will do once on the plane, most of us are too busy cracking under pressure over what to bring with us.

Have you ever seen those movies where the character brings everything with her, as if she has to have a million pairs of shoes in one small suitcase? It is funny at first glance but then you realize, wait am I like this? Most of us tend to try and take our entire wardrobe with us. Unless you are planning to move to another country, you don’t need your entire shoe collection. The first rule of thumb when it comes to packing for a fun and adventurous holiday is pack light. It may sound easy enough but not everyone knows the meaning of packing light. Or even what you should bring on the plane to feel more at home.

Cosmo anyone?

I’m a firm believer that it’s the photographer, not the camera that takes the killer photograph. What you choose to capture is very important, not the kind of camera you use. Using my IPhone 6s has proven to be highly effective. I used to use a camera I thought was really top notch. Coming to the conclusion, your phone actually takes better photos then a typical camera. We live in a world where people are constantly taking pictures either while you travel, at events, or even just of your favourite food.

What I love about this digital age is how we can get inspired by accessories to go with our phones. Awhile back, when the IPhone came out it seemed like we only had grey, black, or white to choose from when it came to cases. The last thing any fashion forward individual desires is a boring and lifeless case. When it comes to James Gold, he made sure this defiantly wouldn’t be the case. Growing up in London while attending Birmingham University, where he studied law. Gold sparked the idea of developing an industry where creativity was encouraged.

Investing-In-Progress

With so much going on in the world. Who ever thought for five seconds that anyone would be so concerned about investments? I’m not talking about money investments, even though it is a good idea to have them for the future. Instead, it seems persistent forces of non-stop trends are haunting us like a bad dream. Don’t get me wrong, I love to see some unique styles coming in each year that pushes us respectfully out of our comfort zones. Lately it seems when you try to have fun with trends they either look really amazing or make you seem as if you barrowed clothes from a clown.

So what is the hottest thing to do now? Like women, men are starting to buy pieces to invest in deemed “investment pieces”. So what exactly should you invest in? Many sources try to give advice but at the end of the day it starts to become more complicated. Thanks to resources like Pinterest and Instagram the popularity of timeless pieces gives us a new meaning to classics. So before you start to have an anxiety attack! Make sure you listen very carefully to this helpful and lifesaving advice.

5 Solutions to perfecting signature style

When I was younger, the traditional way women wore clothes was to choose one style and stay faithful to it, so it became almost part of their personality. For example, women decided to stick with what society told them to wear. On a daily basis this came off so controlling. If everyone wore similar clothing choices, then it would defiantly be a boring world. Based on creative images and ideas from fashion houses, like Chloe, YSL, and Chanel these timeless designers embarked on creating iconic silhouettes for women. This bold movement changed our perspective on what fashion means.

In 2016, it seems our journey to style is evolving quite rapidly. Social media sites like Pinterest and Instagram are perfect outlets for the fashionista at heart. Not only can you follow fellow style addicts but you can obtain incredibly useful fashion inspiration. Whenever you hear the word “signature” or “iconic” the first name that come to mind is Audrey Hepburn. She made the little black dress so chic and unforgettable. Why is she so memorable to us? Well she didn’t go over the top in her design selection. If you ever notice wearing something so simple can really make a huge impact. The number one mistake women can sometimes make is packing too much on. A classic rule every girl should follow is before you leave the house take off one accessory.

Do you ever catch yourself looking at someone’s style and think, how do I maintain my own signature style? What exactly is your signature? It is a style that represents who you are and what makes you so unique. I’ve compiled 5 ways to perfect your signature style.

The Travel Look- Bold patterns work so well, especially when it comes to your travels. When venturing to Milan, Italy a really gorgeous floral pink and black dress works so well. You can sport this little number while out shopping during the day. This romantic dress can be easily transitioned to a night out look in a matter of seconds.

The Signature- I don’t know about you but I just love a nice crisp and soft leather motto jacket. You can easily add some edge by throwing this jacket over a floral pink dress, to add some intrigue and playful mystique.

70s Boots- Retro fashion has become the new favourite of many designers at fashion week. The 70s era has come out with incredible boots that I just can’t stop wearing. These suede black and clumpy thick heels are so fun. Every girl needs a pair for date night or a casual city look.

Are you on the list? - When a new bag comes out on the street style scene everyone goes absolutely mad! I can understand I mean all these purses are gorgeous who wouldn’t have style envy? When it comes to all the stunning handbags, one in particular stopped me in my tracks. It was the YSL College Monogram Flap bag! The chevron style and brushed silver hardware got me so addicted. I just had to have this beauty, when I searched online this bag was completely sold out. It amazes me how quickly it just disappeared. Luckily, when I got to the YSL flagship store they ordered me a brand new one in the largest size they had available. When I got to pick up my dream bag, I was head over heels in love. I am a fan of other bags in the designer community but this bag just screamed my style! I had seen two fashionable icons Rosie Huntington Whitely and Jessica Alba with this exact same bag. I still can’t believe that right now as we speak, in order to get this purse, you have to go on a waiting list.

SAINT LAURENT - Monogram Collège Bag

Experiment- Never be afraid to try something new. I love to experiment with my fashion choices, you never know what can suit you best unless you go outside the norm. In my case, I decided to play up casual with a dressy element for an easy day to night look.

I love when something catches my eye, in this case I stopped over at the Alexander McQueen section and fell in love with some classy dresses. Oh so rocker noir with an unusual twist.
