6 ways to be a minimalist with Mulberry

When it comes to designer handbags, Mulberry has positioned itself as the destination for timeless investment purchases-without the feeling of paying a lot and lacking in quality. From classic totes that stand the test of time to smaller cross-body bags that go perfectly for a wedding reception or a glamourous night out. The versatility of these handbags mean that you will be getting your money’s worth. Time and time again, I have personally seen the quality issues with brands and this isn’t good for the consumer. Who really wants to pay ridiculous prices, if you are not getting the craftsmanship to go along with it.

However, I am a firm believer that less is more. Embracing the minimalistic features of Mulberry, while still adding something extra can be healthy for the mind, body, and soul. Speaking of which, getting rid of what you don’t need and replacing it with something new…can be very cathartic. If you’re attached to some things you can’t seem to part with, then minimalism can seem intimidating at first. I can attest to the fact it is very easy, it also relieves stress and is refreshing.

Have you ever looked at your wardrobe and thought to yourself, do I really need this? The number one thing to realise is you don’t have to own 10,000 bags to be happy. For anyone who is a self-proclaimed handbag lover, understands the need to check out the latest styles. It can be fun and somewhat therapeutic. Retail therapy is real and we are all guilty of shopping till we drop. It is truly harmless and with the seasons changing, new looks are popping up in the shops. You just have to be careful you don’t buy items you don’t really use.

Here are some easy ways to become a minimalist while adding some classic Mulberry bags to your normal sized collection.

1. Make a list of things you don’t really need.
If you haven’t done this already, check out your closet. If you have bags or accessories that you haven’t used in over a year. Then it is high time you part with them gracefully.

2. Get rid of any duplicate items.
We are all culprits of being the all black bag collection. As classy as black is, it is good to add some depth and colour. If you have something that looks like your other pieces sell them.

3. Put a stop to agonizing over styles.
One thing people make the mistake is when you see a new bag come out. And you think I have to own this. Wait a second, is this style something you would pick up normally? Would you use it a lot? Or just for special occasions? Asking yourself these questions does wonders.

4. Keep your collection clutter-free.
It looks so tacky, when you have a billion bags taking up most of the room in your wardrobe. Who wishes to look at that? And it can look like a bunch of unnecessary ornaments on display. Make sure your shelves are free of random clutter. This way it is neat and tidy.

5. Don’t get Instagram scammed with bags.
When scrolling on Instagram feeds. You can come across a certain brand or style of bag that you think I must have that beauty! Don’t fall for it. Nine out of ten chances the bag is just a trend and will come and go quicker than you can blink. Only buy a style that you feel will be a true investment to yourself.

6. Minimize your bag.
Being a minimalist doesn’t mean you lack in fashion sense, but stick to basic colours and pieces that will go with everything for a classic and easy style. Embracing this type of wardrobe will make getting ready for early morning commutes a breeze. And can help you maintain a closet full of clothes, accessories, and bags you actually use and wear. Not stuff you think you might wear one day and turn around and waste space.
