If you never thought fashion, style, and
motivational influence mixed together would work, think again. Almond Avenue seamlessly
blends the three notes into the perfect fall sleek selection. Inspired by the 90s
supermodel iconic era, Iona brings this
organic flavour that mists you all the way, that is satisfyingly refreshing.
These glamorous posts begin with the freshness of pure, chic, and honesty that
quickly blossoms into floral notes of rose, violet and jasmine. Then to turn up
the heat of the dessert and fire up that inspiration, it leaves you with deep,
warm, and spicy notes reserved only for those who love realness. Iona truly brings out the raw and non-nonsense in
her very helpful articles. I really admire someone who can make a bold
statement in such a classy way, while still remaining truly rebellious. This is
exactly what Almond
Avenue brings to the table without making any apologies.
From jetting off to Hong Kong and China, Iona worked as a model and stylist with several
renowned photographers for editorial shoots that were published in many
well-known magazines. Check out this exclusive interview with Iona, who is the beauty and brains behind one of fashion’s
little kept secret.
Heather Lisa Noire (BF) Hi Iona, where
are you originally from?
Iona (AA) Hi
Heather! I grew up in Bristol in the U.K.
Heather Lisa Noire (BF) You
have a really cool blog. What inspired you to start blogging?
Iona (AA) Thank
you so much! I started one a few years ago when I first started modeling and
that was focused more on my time traveling to Asia as a model. While I was
studying Fashion Branding, I was encouraged to start a fashion blog to attract
potential employers in the fashion industry so I created Almond Avenue
about a year ago. The general theme of my blog is ‘elegance with an edge’ and I
want to express not only my personal style, but also my own opinions on
important topics or issues.
Heather Lisa Noire (BF) How
did you get into modeling?
Iona (AA)
I was scouted online when I was 16 and did it part-time until I was 18 and had
finished school. Once I had finished, I traveled to Seoul, Hong Kong and China
on contract. I recently took a break to study again for two years in Hong Kong
but am about to travel back to Asia to work again.
Heather Lisa Noire (BF) Do you
believe in luck?
Iona (AA)
To some extent yes but I don’t think hard work, for example, is something that
can be faked.
Heather Lisa Noire (BF) Tell
me about your own personal style?
Iona (AA)
Generally, I like to look put together but also comfortable in what I’m
wearing. I tend to prefer classic items and neutral colours as opposed to
trendy/colourful clothes. I always like to balance masculinity and femininity
in my outfit choices, such as belting an oversized blazer or adding heels to
boyfriend jeans. I try to show this balance on my blog through the theme and
the content.
